A common misconception about psychoanalytically informed therapies is that they are appropriate only for people of means. Dr. Luepnitz will speak to the forgotten history of free treatment in psychoanalysis, describing the efforts of Donald Winnicott -- and Freud himself -- to make free treatment available for all. Her talk will outline the concepts most relevant to working with adults without secure housing (e.g. the holding environment, "fear of breakdown", and the use of countertransference). Clinical illustrations from her project "Insight For All" will be offered.

Two contact hours will be available for this event.

This seminar will help practitioners understand and apply psychodynamic principles to clinical work with adults without secure housing.
