29th Annual Psychotherapy and Faith Conference: Tending to the Human Spirit in the Time of COVID-19
The coronavirus pandemic is causing psychological, emotional and spiritual issues that individuals have to deal with while shuttered in their homes, often alone, and socially distanced from family, friends and co-workers.
These problems compound the burden for those who already suffer from mental illness; anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation escalate. False and misleading medical information abound, creating fear for many otherwise healthy individuals.
The magnitude of these problems reveals a gap in the training of psychotherapy and mental health professionals, as well as clergy and chaplains, who are often the first to see a client in distress.
This conference will address the gap in knowledge for healthcare professionals who care for individuals going through an unprecedented global pandemic crisis.
