Children and adolescents have been struggling with anxiety related to the growing epidemic of mass shootings in our nation, and gun-related death by suicide continues to be a major driver of increased rates of suicide in young adults over the past decade. Despite calls for action for common-sense gun reform measures and recommendations for increased discussion around these concerns in clinical visits since the time of the Columbine mass shooting, few gains in these areas have been realized over the last several decades in Colorado or the nation. Join your colleagues for an enlightening presentation from state and national experts on gun violence prevention initiatives, state resources, and evidenced-based approaches for engaging in clinical conversations with patients and families about this topic.
