The challenges of developing and maintaining an analytic practice in the current mental health environment can be daunting and demoralizing. in this seminar, Dr. Arnold Rothstein will present a model that he has developed. This “trusting model,” in contrast to the more traditional “evaluative model,” focuses on analytic attitude and countertransference. In this webinar, Dr. Rothstein will describe the trusting model and employ it as a frame of reference for discussing clinical material provided by Dr. Alistair McKnight.

    Learning Objectives

    1. Participants will identify two aspects of analytic attitude that can facilitate the development of analytic cases.

    2. Participants will identify two technical approaches to early countertransferential responses that can facilitate the development of an analytic process.
